The classes are 2 days per week.
To gain this qualification, learners must achieve a total of 32 credits from all mandatory units.
Learners will need to be working or on a practical placement for the duration of the course in a learning environment (school or college) as they need to show competence in both skills and knowledge.
This is course is delivered in partnership with the Adult Learning Service Slough Windsor and Maidenhead.
Free funding is available to learners who meet the eligibility criteria below:
– Resident within the boroughs of Slough or RBWM
– Unemployed or in receipt of low income (less than £25,750 per year)
– Resident in the UK continuously for 3 years or more (exceptions apply for refugees)
– In receipt of state benefits (Universal Credit, JSA, etc.) and their take-home pay as recorded on their UC statement is less than £952 a month (learner is sole adult in their benefit claim) or £1534 a month (learner has a joint benefit claim with their partner)
– Have Right to Work in the UK
– Aged 19 years+
This qualification shares 3 mandatory units with the NCFE CACHE Level 2 Award in Support Work in Schools and Colleges (603/2478/8) and, therefore, provides opportunities for direct progression for those learners transitioning from the Level 2 Award in Support Work in Schools and Colleges to this level 2 certificate.
