Qualification Overview

Outline of the programme:

WEEK 1 (online)- Introduction to Special Education Needs (30 GLH)

WEEK 2 (online) – Introduction Social Care (30 GLH)

WEEK 3 (in-person) – First Aid, Anaphylaxis Awareness and Mental Health Awareness (30 GLH)

Funding criteria

This is a Community Learning Programme delivered in partnership with Slough Borough Council.
This course is free to all learners who meet the funding eligibility criteria below:

– Resident within the boroughs of Slough or RBWM
– Unemployed or in receipt of low income (less than £22,308 per year)
– Resident in the UK continuously for 3 years or more (exceptions apply for refugees)
– In receipt of state benefits (Universal Credit, JSA, etc.)
– Have Right to Work in the UK
– Aged 19 years+
– Not being on an apprenticeship

Progression opportunities

Learners can progress into temporary work as Learning Support Assistant, SEN Assistants or Care Assistants.
Learners can also progress into higher education such as the Skills Bootcamp for SEN Professionals (Level 3).
