Learning Programme in Childcare

The Entry Level Childcare Learning Programme is designed for individuals who are interested in working with children and want to take their first step into the childcare and early years sector.

This programme offers a gentle introduction to childcare, helping learners build confidence and understand the fundamentals of supporting children’s learning, development, and wellbeing. It is ideal for those with little or no previous experience, or learners who want to explore a future career in childcare before progressing to a qualification.

Throughout the programme, learners will develop key knowledge such as child development basics, communication, safeguarding awareness, routines and care, and supporting children through play. Learning is interactive and relatable, focusing on everyday childcare scenarios to help learners understand what working with children involves in real settings.

This course is particularly suitable for:

  • Aspiring childcare and early years practitioners
  • Parents or carers considering a career in childcare
  • Individuals returning to learning or work
  • Learners exploring progression into Level 2 or Level 3 childcare qualifications

By the end of the programme, learners will have a clearer understanding of childcare roles and feel more confident and prepared to progress into volunteering, further training, or employment within the childcare and early years sector.
