Are you unemployed or on a low income? Are you struggling to get a job without qualifications or experience? Are you passionate about working with children?

If so, join our Learning Programme in Childcare and get the skills to start a career as a Nursery Assistant!

At the end of the course, you’ll also have the opportunity to register as a temp worker with our sister Company Worldwide Education and start working straight away!

Many of the learners who have completed the programme have started working as a temp Nursery Assistant or have found a permanent job in a Nursery!

The course also includes a session of CV building and interview tips with an experienced consultant from Worldwide Education.

This is a Community Learning Programme delivered in partnership with the East Berkshire Community Learning and Skills Service, Slough Borough Council and the RBWM.
This course is available only for learners who meet the funding eligibility criteria below.

Progression opportunities

This course is an introduction to the role of Nursery Assistant. You can progress into a Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Safeguarding and Prevent, and Level 2 Diploma for the Early Years Practitioner. You will also be invited for a job interview at the end of the course by our sister Company Worldwide Education which could progress into employment as a temp Nursery Assistant.

*The eligibility criteria for funding are the following:

  1. Resident within the boroughs of Slough, Windsor and Maidenhead
  2. Unemployed or in receipt of low income (less than £20,000 per year)
  3. Resident in the UK continuously for 3 years or more (exceptions apply for refugees)
  4. In receipt of state benefits (Universal Credit, JSA, etc.)
  5. Have Right to Work in the UK
  6. Aged 19 years+
  7. Not being on an apprenticeship

There is a £125 cancellation fee if a learner enrols and fails to complete or withdraws early from the course. This fee is to cover administration costs. We may be able to offer extensions if learners are unable to meet the set submission deadline. Please read the declaration on the enrolment form carefully before signing up.
